Recreational SCUBA Diving is superb fun,
but what about something a little more adventurous?

Technical Diver Program

Technical diving is a form of SCUBA diving that exceeds the scope of recreational open water diving. This type diving requires additional training, extensive experience, and specialized equipment.

• Recreational Trimix

• Deep Diver
Introduction to Technical Diving

• Advanced Nitrox

• Advanced Recreational Trimix

Recreational Trimix Diver

This course provides the student with an introduction into the use of helium as part of the breathing mix. Upon completion of the course, you will be qualified to dive Trimix with 28-40% oxygen and helium. A reduction in absorbed nitrogen is achieved which reduces the effect of Nitrogen Narcosis. With Trimix, the Narcosis feeling at 130 feet will be the same as with air at 80). An additional advantage is the reduction in breathing resistance because Helium is a less dense gas than air. Certification allows 130 foot maximum depth with no decompression stops, but can be extended greatly depending on other qualifications.

Prerequisites: Advanced Open Water Diver, Nitrox certification.

Pool: One pool session is required.

Classroom: One classroom session is required.

Dives: Two open water dives using Trimix are required no deeper than 130 feet.

Equipment: Good working equipment appropriate to the environment.

Cost: $395

Instructor: Jim Rozzi & Peter Sotis

This course can be taken as a stand alone course using open water gear (single tank, single regulator). If the student plans to obtain further certifications involving technical diving, completion of the Deep Diver Course class is recommended prior to registering for the Recreational Trimix class.

Deep Diver

This course provides the student with an introduction to the use of technical dive equipment and theory. The Deep Diver course using technical equipment will familiarize the student with use of twin tanks and multiple regulars.

Prerequisites: Advanced Open Water Diver, Ten logged dives.

Pool: One pool session

Classroom: One classroom session is required.

Dives: Four open water dives with two being deeper than 100 feet are required.

Equipment: Technical setup including backplate, wings, double tanks, lift bag, and two regulators. See complete list of equipment.

Cost: $650

Instructors: Jim Rozzi and Peter Sotis

This course prepares the student for decompression diving when additional certifications in either Recreational Trimix or Advanced Recreational Trimix are obtained.

Advanced Nitrox Diver

The Advanced Nitrox Diver program is designed to extend the divers knowledge in the use of EANx for recreational diving. It further develops technical diving skills and provides a greater understanding of the EANx concept. It employs EANx mixes from 21% to a maximum of 50%. The maximum depth for training and certification is 140 feet. This course will cover theory, methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving using a stage cylinder. A maximum of 15 minutes decompression time is allowed.

Prerequisites: Deep Diver, Nitrox Certification, Twenty-five logged dives.

Pool: One pool session is required.

Classroom: One classroom session is required.

Dives: Four open water dives with two being deeper than 100 feet are required.

Equipment: Same as Deep Diver requirements with the addition of a decompression cylinder.

Cost: $650

Instructor: Jim Rozzi & Peter Sotis
